Role Summary
The Research Intern position in the Clinical Trials & Research Department at BC Cancer - Victoria provides an opportunity for students who have recently completed an undergraduate degree to gain real-world clinical research experience in advance of graduate or medical studies.
- 12-month full-time position renewable for a maximum of 2 year
- $22- 25 per hour plus vacation & benefits
The Research Intern will support BC Cancer - Victoria's translational research program:
- Enhance program availability to patients
- Consent patients to registries and research studies
- Process patient reimbursements
- Liaise with study investigators & sponsors
- Assist with audits & monitoring
- Conduct literature searches
- Perform chart reviews
- Participate in data collection & analysis
- Communicate study findings
- Other administrative tasks as required
Qualifications
- Completion of a bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline (e.g. sciences, social sciences, healthcare, or communications).
- The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated computer skills in an intermediate Microsoft Office environment.
- Statistical knowledge an asset.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under time constraints.
- Ability to work within an environment of changing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to learn.
