This position performs a variety of warehouse duties such as stock maintenance, distribution, and maintaining related records.

 

What you’ll do 

  • Picks orders by identifying and locating items using computer systems and/or handheld computer. Counts items; edits electronic pick lists when required; packs completed orders in preparation for shipping.
  • Enters edited data into computer system as required.
  • Picks stock from designated inventory location.
  • Performs stock rotation as established in warehouse guidelines.
  • Unpacks received stock and replenishes to designated location.
  • Maintains warehouse area in a clean and orderly condition, according to established warehouse safety standards and CSA guidelines, by performing duties such as removing wasted cardboard and shrink wrap from assembly lines
  • Performs related duties such as answering the phone and filing/entering/retrieving data from the computer system.
  • Assists with physical inventories and cycle counts by counting items in inventory as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

What you bring

 

Qualifications

  • Grade 10 with six months’ recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019). 
  • As a strong asset for consideration, we are looking for our successful candidate to have: Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities of settler colonialism on Indigenous Peoples and familiarity with addressing Indigenous-specific anti-racism, anti-racism and Indigenous Cultural Safety and foundational documents and legislative commitments (The Declaration Act, the Declaration Action Plan, TRC, IPS, Remembering Keegan, etc.).

Job Type: Casual (Casual is defined as on call with no guaranteed hours.  Shifts can be called out via short call (1-5 hours of notice) or pre-booked).

$24.34/hour + 13% in lieu
