The Langley Fulfillment Centre (referred to as the Langley Campus and consisting of two buildings) will be the incumbent’s home work location.

The incumbent may be required to work at other lower mainland warehouse locations, based on operational needs, that include the following worksites. Travel required, as needed.

 

• Hopcott: 7510 Hopcott, Delta, BC, V4G 1B6

• Agar: 4551 Agar Drive, Richmond, BC, V7B 1A3

 


Job Summary:

The Lead Hand, Receiving is responsible for the receiving area of the Warehouse and directs the workflow of other employees.  Primary function is the coordination of goods from the delivery companies into the receiving area, and coordinates the receipt and allocation of goods into the computerized inventory systems for transportation to the appropriate area of the warehouse.  Maintains records and provides information regarding receiving activities.  May operate a forklift and/or pallet jack within departmental guidelines to perform warehouse duties.  Administers First Aid as required during shift in accordance with departmental and WorkSafe BC regulations.

Duties/Accountabilities:

1.    Coordinates the receipt of all goods and materials coming into the warehouse from external vendors and suppliers by ensuring physical goods match documentation from supplier, and are received into the facility according to departmental procedures and guidelines.

2.    Liaises with Procurement/Inventory Analysts regarding discrepancies in goods received, and makes recommendations for corrective action.

3.    Coordinates cross-docking of direct purchase goods and materials by ensuring goods received, manifested, and placed into appropriate site cages for shipping according to the truck route and schedule.

4.    Maintains records and provides information regarding Receiving activities.

5.    Identifies and returns damaged or spoiled goods to supplier; arranges for delivering and return of loan and return items; completes appropriate documentation.

6.    Transports stock and materials to all areas of the facility by methods such as operating material handling equipment including but not limited to forklifts and pallet jacks.

7.    Maintains warehouse area in a clean and orderly condition according to established warehouse safety standards and CSA guidelines by performing duties such as removing wasted cardboard and shrink wrap from assembly lines.

8.    Performs physical inventory counts as requested.

9.    Administers First Aid as required during shift in accordance with departmental and WorkSafe BC regulations.

10.    Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education, Training and Experience

Grade 12 plus two (2) years’ recent, related experience with six (6) months receiving experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
