FT Irreg Critical Care Paramedic / Training Opportunity

 

Open to all CCP qualified and post probationary Advanced Care Paramedics only. 

 

BCEHS intends to fill up to 5 (five) Irreg / training positions for Air Operations station 283 Vancouver. Start dates for successful candidates who are CCP ITT qualified will be TBD based on operational needs. 

 

 

 

Qualified Applicants for Training Positions will:

  1. Be a CUPE 873 Bargaining Unit Employee
  2. Hold a current BC Advanced Care Paramedic License and have completed probation in an ACP role
  3. Have a satisfactory work record
  4. Be able and willing to fly

Assessment Process for Training Positions:

Applicants will be invited to participate in the assessment process which is comprised of the following:

  1. An assessment to measure skills and abilities through a multi-mini interview (MMI)
  2. BCIT PLAR course

The timeline for the selection process is:

 

Multiple Mini-Interview Process

 

July 31, 2025

BCIT PLAR (exact dates confirmed prior to April 01, 2025)

 

runs September to November 2025

 

Confirmation of the final list of trainees which will be determined by seniority, training positions offered

 

Once results from PLAR are in , early November 2025

 

Successful applicants will be moved to 283 as operationally required after the results of the PLAR are in and positions are offered for potentially a November /December start date.

The start date of the full Critical Care training program will begin the first week of January, 2026. 

 

 

Additional information for applicants to this Employment Bulletin:

All training will take place in Vancouver. Employees, who are selected as trainees:

  • will be moved to Irregularly Scheduled CCP training positions at the commencement of training
  • will be assigned to Irregularly scheduled CCP vacancies upon successful completion of the training

The salary during CCP training will be your current ACP rate minus any supervisory or additional adds to pay. Upon successful completion of training, the wage will represent the CCP base rate of pay.
