BCAS intends to fill 2 (two) vacancies for Full Time Regular Scheduled Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) in the Langford Dispatch Operations Centre (LDOC).
Applicants to both EMD and EMCT positions are selected based on Article 13.01 for qualified bargaining unit applicants and 13.04 for unqualified internal and external applicants.

Alpha2: 0600-1800/1800-0600
Alpha3: 0615-1815/1815-0615
Alpha4: 0600-1800/1800-0600
Alpha6: 0630-1830/1230-0030
B2: 0600-1600
Current FT employees in Langford Dispatch, as well as all other applicants to the posting, must apply to the posting AND submit the Dispatch Shuffle Preference Form to ensure their shift pattern and team/platoon preference is considered by seniority when assigning positions.
In order to complete the application process, all applicants applying to the posting must complete both steps (apply to the posting AND submit the Dispatch Shuffle Preference Form) by the closing of the posting on July 01, 2025.
- If an Employee applies to the posting but does not submit a completed Dispatch Shuffle Preference form, the applicant will not be considered as an applicant for the posting.
- If an Employee submits a completed Dispatch Shuffle Preference form, but does not apply to the posting, the applicant will not be considered as an applicant for the posting.
The form can be found on the BCEHS website at https://liquidoffice.bcehs.ca:4433/lfserver/EHS_0123 and must be submitted to the BCEHS Recruitment Helpdesk following the instructions on the form. Forms submitted to managers, charges or other areas will not be accepted.
Employees must submit a separate form for each posting. Forms for multiple posts or postings will be deemed invalid. Shuffle preference forms for this posting will be accepted up to and including July 01, 2025
The shuffle process will take place immediately following recruitment of FT regular positions. Vacancies will be filled by seniority and request for all positions throughout the process. Current FT Regular Employees will only be moved if one of their preferred positions become available. Employee request forms will expire upon completion of the shuffle, and employees will need to submit a new request for any future postings.
A Post Shuffle Guideline Document was developed between BCEHS and CUPE 873 to summarize and clarify the recruitment and post shuffle processes under the provisions of the collective agreement. Please refer to the guideline located here on the BCEHS Intranet.
Please note, employees accepting any Regular position under the Collective Agreement will not be entitled to rescind an accepted offer after 61 days of accepting the offer. Regular and Irregular employees may only rescind within the 61 days after acceptance. You will also be required to report to your new position within the 61 days of acceptance. Employees that rescind an offer at any time are not guaranteed to be placed back into their current/prior position.
