About the Opportunity:
This role works closely with and supports the provincial Leadership Giving fundraising team based in Vancouver while contributing to support the Foundation in reaching its fundraising goals.
Reporting to the Director, Development, responsibilities include:
- Providing assistance with mid-level and major gift fundraising activity, including the preparation of briefing notes, gift agreement documentation, input on strategy where possible, and guiding donor cultivation and stewardship activities
- Coordinating and booking internal and external meetings, ensuring appropriate arrangements, including booking meeting facilities, and ensuring all logistics are carried out for meetings, such as taking minutes and preparing agendas
- Coordinating provincial travel for Director, Development and other team members, as required
- Drafting correspondence and supporting the timely distribution of various gift reports and briefings
- Entering, maintaining, and querying information related to donors, using the Foundation’s customer relationship management system, Raiser’s Edge
- Coordinating and supporting the logistics and planning of donor tours at research centres, including organizing various donor engagement opportunities
- Providing logistical and administrative support for donor engagement and stewardship activities
- Engaging with donors through periodic outreach to express appreciation, share updates and strengthen ongoing relationships
- Preparing expense claims forms for team
- Maintaining current filing systems, as needed; planning and coordinating the implementation of assigned projects
- Providing administrative support to the Director, Development and other fundraising individuals, as required
Qualifications
- A degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in a related field,
- Three to five years related experience in administration, preferably working within fundraising, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- A willingness to work beyond core work hours, as the occasional evening may be required

- Displays compassion, sensitivity, confidentiality and mature judgment skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with the public, donors, prospective donors, professional advisors and all levels of staff and volunteers
- Strong organization and problem-solving skills, with proven ability to be resourceful and creative
- Demonstrated organizational, time management and project coordination skills with a proven ability to meet multiple deadlines under pressure with frequent interruptions
- Sound interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a dynamic team setting and be considered a team player
- Ability to work with a varied group of stakeholders and interact with donors using tact, diplomacy and discretion
- Foster an environment that ensures donors have a meaningful experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative, when required
- Strong data analysis and proof-reading skills, attention to detail and accuracy
- Proven researching skills using a variety of sources and strategies
- Computer skills: demonstrated advanced competence in computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel and Outlook) and intermediate experience with Raiser’s Edge or another customer relationship management system

Salary Range: $50,000 - $61,000

- 4 weeks’ vacation plus office closure between Christmas Eve and New Years, as well as half days office closures before each statutory holiday
