Job Summary

Job Summary:

Receives a variety of articles and performs related Stores duties such as unpacking, checking, storing and distributing articles.  Receives, sorts, distributes and processes incoming and outgoing mail using a postage meter.

Duties/Accountabilities:

1.    Receives, unpacks and checks incoming materials, ensuring that goods are delivered as per specifications and completes related paper work such as signing delivery slips.  Enters goods received into computer system, matching against applicable purchase order.  Advises Buyer of discrepancies with supplier.
2.    Checks invoices against orders and goods received and resolves discrepancies with suppliers and/or departments.
3.    Assembles, issues, delivers and ships goods from requisition requests received and records for charging to appropriate area.
4.    Secures lids on barrels and boxes of biohazardous waste with shrink wrap in preparation for shipment.  Delivers all containers to the loading dock for pick up by carrier.  Contacts freight company for pick-up of waste.
5.    Identifies and returns damaged or spoiled goods to suppliers; completes appropriate documentation.
6.    Transports variety of supplies and/or materials externally by operating a single-axle delivery vehicle with no passengers.
7.    Processes all outgoing mail utilizing a postage meter; weighs letters and parcels and affixes proper postage.
8.    Receives and sorts incoming mail and parcels.
9.    Records incoming and outgoing registered mail.
10.    Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education, Training and Experience
•    Grade 12, plus one year’s recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
