QA Manger/Lead /in Canada-Quebec-Montreal/ Contract-Full time:

QA Manger/Lead:

 

LOCATION:

Montreal, Canada

 

START DATE:

ASAP

 

END DATE:

3 months with possible extension

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

This person will be the point person for all testing activities for a client (functional / non-functional - performance/security / automation)

  • Create and support standards, processes, and procedures necessary to produce the deliverables from the team and to work effectively with the other teams.
  • 10-15 years experience required in IT or related field.
  • 2-5 years of management/lead experience required in IT or related field.
  • Customer Facing skills in a remote environment must
  • Hands on testing experience / QA practices required
  • Drives Test Strategy / Test Plan
  • Drives Overall Test Timelines & Test phases
  • Responsible for all test deliverables & test estimates
  • Identify test data needs & secure test data
  • Identify test environment needs & secure test environment
  • Drives Defect Management calls & resolution
  • At least 3 years of Agile experience
  • Proven experience working with offshore teams
  • Experience in full system development lifecycles desired.
  • Experience in automating testing scenarios desired.
  • Experience with the following technologies: HP Quality Center, Jira, Rally and Agile       Methodology
  • Familiar with white box testing strategies – API testing
  • Ability to assess the impact of new process or project requirements on existing complex processes
  • Strong business and technical writing skills producing clear and unambiguous deliverables to all levels of the organization
  • Telecom experience preferred especially in BSS / OSS space

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 10+ years experience in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree.
  • 4+ years of management/lead in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the communication to Technology and business leadership on status of plans and activity
  • Manages weekly and ad hoc reporting pertaining to activity and operations
  • Presents information on projects, initiatives or other subjects to peers, teams and Upper Management
  • Work closely with internal business partners to forecast future needs and to develop cost effective strategies aligned with business objectives
  • Assist with managing projects and timelines from conception through launch
  • Ensure coverage of all areas of expertise necessary to support and grow the business within the Manager's area of responsibility
  • Handle escalations from team and escalate as needed to upper management and senior leaders
  • Provide SME level guidance to QA and Application support teams during test and deployment phases to non-production environment
  • Participate in production release validation to ensure successful deployments of products
  • Ability to provide cost benefit analysis or ROI
  • Facilitation of inter-team communication across many agile projects within an organization
  • Focus on moving toward continuous integration & delivery (CI/CD)
  • Perform HR responsibilities: Provide guidance and mentor to direct reports including goal setting, train, and issue resolution. Manage direct reports.
