As part of the provincial mental health services continuum, BC Mental Health & Addiction Services (BCMHAS) provides a diverse range of specialized, “one-of-a-kind” tertiary level mental health services to residents across all geographic areas in BC. These include Adult and Geriatric Services located at Riverview Hospital, Adult Forensic Psychiatric Services located at the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital plus six regional clinics, and Child and Youth Mental Health Services located at BC Children’s Hospital. In addition to direct services, BCMHAS acts as a support and resource to service providers across the province by leading research and knowledge exchange initiatives that contribute to system wide improvements.

Manager, Regional Clinic

Forensic Psychiatric Services, Prince George, B.C.

Demonstrating strong skills in operations management in a dynamic and multi-task environment, you will supervise and coordinate services by the assigned regional clinic and catchment area. Ensuring the quality management of care delivery to clients and families, you will lead and monitor an interdisciplinary clinical care team in service development and planning activities through work groups and projects. You will recruit and evaluate staff, managing the performance management process for designated staff. Collaborating with the Senior Manager, Regional Clinics, and the Quality Improvement team, you will monitor quality outcomes and assist in developing methodologies, quality indicators, and evidence based outcomes. As well, you will prepare and analyze budgets for the service delivery cost centres, and oversee and manage contracts in regard to contracted staff members. As a strong communicator, you will assist in planning education sessions and orientations, and coordinating the placement and supervision of student practicums. This position requires some travel.

 

Currently registered with a relevant professional association, you have a bachelor’s degree in a related health profession from an accredited university. You also have at least seven years’ recent and related clinical experience, including two years in a managerial/leadership role in a clinical setting. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. As a managerial expert, you understand and have experience in quality assurance processes, operational planning and program development. You are a strong and motivated communicator who can effectively and efficiently manage human and fiscal resources, and understands how to work with community-based agencies.
