BC Children’s Hospital (BCCH) cares for the province’s most acutely ill or injured children and youth, provides developmental and rehabilitation services to children and youth throughout BC, and offers a broad range of health services. BCCH also operates a wide number of specialized health programs, is a leading acute care teaching facility, and conducts research to advance health and care through the BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute and in partnership with the University of British Columbia.

GASTROENTEROLOGIST

LOCUM 1.0 FTE

The UBC Department of Pediatrics and BCCH are seeking a pediatric gastroenterologist who will provide clinical care, in the division including outpatient, inpatient, and procedures. Interest in teaching, and research/QI projects is an asset. Current needs are particularly for individuals who will see general pediatric hepatology patients.

 

The Division is a provincial resource serving a total population base of 4.2 million and provides a broad range of consultative services and inpatient care. The Division currently has nine faculty members with ongoing plans for expansion over the next several years. The Division is recognized for its basic science and clinical research programs with strengths in host defense, clinical epidemiology, inflammatory bowel disease and liver disease. The Division has a Royal College accredited fellowship training program.

 

Applications are invited from clinicians, with potential to thrive in a busy clinical environment. As the successful candidate, you will have demonstrated a commitment to pediatric gastroenterology with excellence in providing a high level of quality clinical care and potential for academic research and teaching. You will be eligible to obtain a specialists license to practice medicine in British Columbia as well as sub-specialty training in pediatric gastroenterology and be a Fellow or be eligible for Fellowship in the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
