The BC Cancer Agency (BCCA) is committed to reducing the incidence of cancer, reducing the mortality from cancer, and improving the quality of life of those living with cancer. It provides a comprehensive cancer control program for the people of British Columbia by working with community partners to deliver a range of cancer services, including prevention, early detection, diagnosis and treatment, research, education, supportive care, rehabilitation and palliative care. It operates five regional cancer centres in Surrey, Kelowna, Vancouver, Vancouver Island, and Abbotsford, with a sixth centre scheduled to open in Prince George in 2012. The BC Cancer Agency's Research Centre conducts research into the causes and cures for cancer.

BC Cancer Agency's Fraser Valley Centre is one of five full service cancer centres of the BC Cancer Agency (BCCA). We provide oncology consultations, chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments for people who live in the Fraser Valley. Through the BC Cancer Agency, we provide a broad range of services including prevention, treatment, screening, genetic counselling and supportive care.

 

The Fraser Valley Centre is an active research clinic contributing to knowledge generation done within the facility. Clinical trials are an extremely important aspect of our clinical care and our team is continually involved in a growing research program.

To assist us in providing some of the best cancer care in the world, you must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing who ideally possesses a Bachelor of Nursing degree. Your strong educational background is accompanied by CRNBC registration, current CPR (Level C) certification and the proven ability to set priorities and organize patient care. We welcome nurses with specialties in other areas, who also have an interest in oncology nursing, as we will guide your transition with our thorough orientation and educational programs.
