The Learning Specialist for the Community Paramedicine program leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of training delivery methods and processes. They provide specialized knowledge and expertise to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the training programs.


What you’ll do

 

  • Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of training delivery methods and processes for the Community Paramedicine program.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented delivery methods and provide recommendations for improvement, identifying and recommending measurement criteria.
  • Provide oversight, guidance, and advice to Community Paramedic Mentors when functioning in a facilitator capacity, supporting team members in the coordination of activities and facilitation of programs.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts, educators, and medical directors to ensure the accuracy, currency, completeness, and comprehensiveness of contents and appropriateness of the format of education programs and learning solutions.
  • Develop, apply, and modify learning materials, documents, templates, and interfaces for education programs and learning solutions consistent with sound learning design principles.

  • Demonstrates the ability to prioritize and organize work independently.
  • Communicates effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Coaches, teaches, demonstrates, facilitates, and leads effectively.
  • Fosters effective teaching and learning relationships, facilitates learning, creates effective learning environments, and provides effective consultation.
  • Solves problems, effectively deals with conflict situations, and uses critical thinking in the approach to teaching.
  • Collaborates and works effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary/interprofessional team.
  • Operates related technology and equipment proficiently.

  • As a strong asset for consideration, we are looking for our successful candidate to have: Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).

Job Type: Casual full-time hours (37.5 hours per week)
Wage
: $33.00 - $43.00/hour - as a casual employee, total earnings include an additional 13% in lieu of benefits and paid vacation. The rate for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan
