As part of the provincial mental health services continuum, BC Mental Health & Addiction Services (BCMHAS) provides a diverse range of specialized, “one-of-a-kind” tertiary level mental health services to residents across all geographic areas in BC. These include Adult and Geriatric Services located at Riverview Hospital, Adult Forensic Psychiatric Services located at the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital plus six regional clinics, and Child and Youth Mental Health Services located at BC Children’s Hospital. In addition to direct services, BCMHAS acts as a support and resource to service providers across the province by leading research and knowledge exchange initiatives that contribute to system wide improvements.

Nurse 7 – Forensic Liaison Nurse & Community Case Manager

Kamloops Forensic Clinic (position based in Cranbrook, BC)

The Community Case Manager is responsible for the provision of community mental health nursing services to clients who are referred to Forensic Psychiatric Regional Programs.  The regional clinics provide psychiatric/psychological assessments to the Courts and treatment services to adults who are subject to a legal order for criminal offences.  The clinical staff also provide assertive case management services to high-risk mentally disordered offenders and are responsible for the supervision and co-ordination of services to adults found NOT Criminally Responsible due to Mental Disorder (NCRMD) or Unfit to Stand Trail.

 

Licensed to practice with CRNBC and/or CRPNBC in the Province of British Columbia.   Have a minimum of two (2) years recent related experience in a community mental health setting and/or in a forensic psychiatry setting.  Skilled in communication, negotiation, problem solving, developing a wide community network of resources, work independently and as part of a team. 

 

Must possess a valid BC Driver’s license and a Criminal Record check is required.
